Councilman Jeff Lucier was rasied in Yerington and attended school completing grades 1-12. Graduating from Yerington High School in 1975. He worked for Lyon County School District as custodian from 1979 through 1987. While working he commuted to Reno to attend UNR. Councilman Lucier graduated from UNR with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988. He then attended advanced standing social work program at Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Graduated with honors (4.0 GPA) in 1989 with a Masters of Social Work degree.

Councilman Lucier is a licensed Clinical Social Worker with license granted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers of the State of Nevada. He is also a Certified School Social Worker granted by the Department of Education for the State of Nevada. His certification covers grades K-12. He retired with 30 years in August of 2007.

Councilman Lucier has 25 plus years professionally working with children. He is  also the author of the children's book, Madam's Mini, published and copyrighted in 2007.

Councilman Lucier is married to wife Nancy and has two children, daughter Dominique and son Aaron.
